INGREDIENTS
- 2 C. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 3/4 C. milk
- 2 (2-oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate
- 1/4 C. butter
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 C. chopped nuts
INSTRUCTIONS
In a 3 qt casserole dish, stir together sugar, salt and milk, mixing well. Add chocolate and butter. Microwave on high 6 mins. until hot and bubbly. Stir well.
Microwave, uncovered 10-14 mins. Stir well every 5 mins. When cooked, a few drops will form a ball in a cup of cold water. Candy thermometer will read 235 degrees. Let candy stand without stirring at room temperature until lukewarm. Add vanilla; beat with a spoon until thick and mixture loses its gloss. Add nuts and pour into buttered pan.
