INGREDIENTS
- 1 C. Crisco
- 2 C. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 C. flour (may need more)
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. lemon extract
- 1 C. sour milk (add 1 Tbsp. white vinegar to milk)
INSTRUCTIONS
Cream together Crisco, sugar and eggs. Add baking soda, baking powder and lemon and beat well. Add flour and milk alternately. Dough should be soft, but should be able to be patted out on floured pastry board–not too thin, these are old fashioned cookies. Cut out cookies with cookie cutter and sprinkle with sugar and bake at 350 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet until bottoms are golden brown.
