CRUST
- 1 1/2 C. flour
- 1 1/2 C. rolled oats
- 1 C. brown sugar – packed
- 1 C. butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Mix together until crumbly.
FILLING
- 1/2 C. sugar
- 1 C. water
- 1 lb. chopped dates
- pinch of salt
Mix filling ingredients in a saucepan and cook until thick. Sprinkle half of the crumb mixture in the bottom of a greased 9×9 pan. Add the cooled filling and top with remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until brown. Cook until thick.
