Crispy Chocolate Squares

CRUST

  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/4 C. flour
  • 1/4 C. chopped nuts
  • 1 oz. square of chocolate
  • 1/4 C. butter or margarine, melted with chocolate

Melt the chocolate and butter and mix with other ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes in a well-greased 8″ square pan. Cool.

MIDDLE LAYER

  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 C. confectioners sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Mix together butter or margarine, confectioners sugar, milk and vanilla and spread on cooled chocolate crust.

GLAZE

  • 1 oz. dark unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 Tbsp. butter

Melt chocolate and butter, let cool, then spread over middle layer. Refrigerate at least 15 minutes before cutting.
