INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 lb. bacon
- 3 lbs. ground beef
- 3 C. finely chopped onions
- 1 C. finely chopped celery
- 2/3 C. boiling water
- 2 cubes beef bouillon
- 1 1/2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 C. catsup
- 3 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 2 (29-oz.) cans molasses style baked beans
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat oven to 375 degrees. In Dutch oven, fry bacon until crisp. Drain fat from pan. In the same pan, cook and stir ground beef, onion and celery until meat is browned and the onions are tender.
Dissolve bouillon cubes in water. Stir bouillon and remaining ingredients (except bacon) into meat mixture. Cover and bake 1 hour 15 minutes.
Should be hot and bubbly. Crumble bacon and sprinkle over the beans. Serves 12. Recipe may be cut in half.
