BASE INGREDIENTS
- 1 head cabbage, sliced thin
- 2 medium onions, sliced thin
- 3/4 C. sugar
DRESSING INGREDIENTS
- 1 C. white vinegar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. celery salt
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 C. Wesson oil
INSTRUCTIONS
Alternate layers of cabbage and onions in a large bowl. Sprinkle with sugar.
In a small sauce pan, stir mustard, slat and celery seed into vinegar and bring to a boil. Add Wesson oil and return to a boil.
Pour liquid over the cabbage and onions while still hot. DO NOT STIR!
Cover and place in refrigerator for at least 24 hours. Will stay crisp and fresh flavored for a week or 10 days in the refrigerator.
